OUR HISTORY

2006Founded

Founded in, the Umbrella of Hope began through the inspiration of two individuals within our local church. Armed with a desire to help, a watchful eye and zeal to reach those in need, they set out to fulfill their calling.

Later, recognizing the needs in the external community, they developed a strategy with the hope of demonstrating God's love and compassion in practical and tangible ways. Utilizing their own funds and being able to generate funds from within the church enabled the beginning of the Umbrella of Hope.

Umbrella of Hope is a division of the Church of God Sabbath-Keeping Ministries and are funded by donations and charitable giving from our local churches and individuals. Our faith in Jesus Christ, the love and grace we have received from Him motivates us to have compassion for others.

Through the expression of Christian love, the Umbrella of Hope works toward breaking the cycle of poverty in the community of Peel Region, while bringing back dignity to the lives of many.
